This soccer tournament was founded a number of years ago and has been staged in Vienna, Austria; Rome, Italy and Mannheim in Germany. The tournament invites amateur and pub teams to participate and Clodiagh Rangers FC have been involved for the past two years, finishing second and third.
The philosophy of the tournament is to bring fans of the game from all over Europe together playing the beautiful game in the most professional manner possible.
Next years tournament will see seven teams travelling to Tipperary to take part. They are Inter Almenhoff (Germany), Spathak Ghent (Belgium), Wilstroms Vikings (Sweden), FC Scholars (Rome), Dynamo Donau (Austria), FC Fullback (UK) and Cork Eagles FC (Poland).
This event is also proudly associated with The Gathering 2013 initiative. This event has also been approved by the Football Association of Ireland and will be included on their calender of National Events for 2013.
The tournament itself will be refereed by accredited FAI referees from the North Tipperary and District League and will be hosted at Clodiagh Rangers FC grounds at Drombane, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
The festivities will commence on Friday the 31st of May at The Thatch Pub, Ballycahill where the the opening ceremony and tournament draw will take place.
The tournament will take place on Saturday the 1st of June at 10.30am in Drombane. There will be music, food and refreshments served all day.
The closing ceremony and presentation of cups/medals will take place in Kennedy’s Pub, Upperchurch the same evening and will kick off at 8.30pm.
