Discover the perfect Irish walking weekend
Come and explore the walking in Upperchurch, nestled in the Slieve Felim Mountains in North Tipperary. We have the perfect weekend lined up for you and your fellow walkers.
For only €110 per person for groups of 15 – here’s what’s waiting for you:
Friday night – arrive to a warm bowl of Irish stew beside a turf fire in Kinnane’s Pub in Upperchurch. Listen to the local guides describe the 3 walks for the weekend & meet the locals who’ll entertain you with local folklore. Retire to your self-catering for the night in the village.
Saturday – cook yourself a tempting breakfast from local produce and meet your guide at 10 am for the first of your walks – Eamon an Chnoic loop – an 8km moderate hill walk through farmland which rewards you with panoramic views of 6 surrounding counties.
Rest the legs with a leisurely lunch of soup and brown bread in the village before tackling the afternoon guided walk to Knockalough. This 3 hour walk has great views over the surrounding countryside. Be entertained by our local guide as you follow in the footsteps of Red Hugh O’Donnell, who travelled through the area on his way to the Battle of Kinsale.
Return back to the village for a 4 course dinner while listening to your guides tell stories of the area.
Sunday – Enjoy the freedom of the Birchill walk which is a 8km attractive lowland walk through farmland and woodland.
Head back home after a perfect weekend exploring and experiencing a hidden part of rural Ireland.
